Asia has been at it again. Dumping solar panels into America, well below the cost of manufacturing. And so, with North State Solar Energy being awarded “American Advocate of the year” in 2016 from SolarWorld Americas, it was only fitting that they ask owner and operator, Michael Houar to assist in the 201 filing to impose a tariff on products being dumped on America from overseas.
SolarWorld, the German manufacturer that led the original trade case against Chinese imports, issued this reaction, earlier this year.
“SolarWorld — as the largest U.S. crystalline-silicon solar manufacturer, with more than 40 years of U.S. manufacturing experience — will assess the case brought by Suniva but prefers that any action to be taken against unfair trade shall consider all parts of the U.S. solar value chain. We’re committed to helping to find a way that also considers the interests of other parties playing fair in the U.S. solar market,” said Juergen Stein, the company’s U.S. president, in a prepared statement.
Here in Northern California’s heartland, as well as elsewhere in the U.S., we value American businesses – it is something that resonates with the core of our customer’s values. That’s why our company only installs solar PV systems made of components that are made or assembled in America. To us, it’s bigger than solar, it’s about preserving American jobs and families, bolstering America’s economy and perhaps taking a small step toward returning America to world manufacturing leadership with continued economic prosperity. NSSE thanks all of our clients for supporting American manufacturing and we will continue to do our part to keep American jobs and quality products coming from this great country.
